The house, first documented in 1776, became a museum in 1994, thanks to a gift from Waggerl's wife, Edith. Waggerl, born in 1897, moved to Wagrain in 1920 to work as a teacher. However, a chronic lung condition led him to dedicate his life to writing. His literary work is deeply connected to Wagrain and its surroundings, capturing the essence of his home. Waggerl remained in the house until his death in 1973. Visitors can explore the rooms as they were when Waggerl lived there, gaining insight into his creative process and the themes that permeate his writing.
