Kohlmaisbahn Mittelstation: A Mountain Hub

The Kohlmaisbahn Mittelstation is a pivotal point on the Kohlmaisbahn, a modern cable car system that ascends from the heart of Saalbach. Opened in 2018, the Kohlmaisbahn replaced an older group cable car and a chairlift, significantly enhancing the transportation capacity and comfort for visitors. In the winter, the Mittelstation is a popular access point for skiers and snowboarders. From here, visitors can access the Snow Trail Kohlmais, a dedicated snow park with various features for freestyle enthusiasts.The Asteralm Almhütte, a traditional mountain hut, is also located near the Mittelstation. It offers a cozy retreat where visitors can enjoy traditional Austrian cuisine and refreshments while taking in the stunning alpine scenery. The Kohlmaisbahn itself is equipped with modern, comfortable cabins featuring panoramic glazing, ensuring a pleasant and visually stunning ride. The lift operates with low noise, making it environmentally friendly and enjoyable for passengers.
