To reach St. Gilgen from Salzburg city center, head to the main bus station, Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (central station). Take the bus number 150 or 154 towards 'St. Gilgen' or 'Wolfgangsee'. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Make sure to get off at the 'St. Gilgen' bus stop. From the bus stop, you can walk to the center of St. Gilgen and enjoy the scenic views of Lake Wolfgang.

From Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, take a train towards 'Bad Ischl'. Depending on the schedule, this may take about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Schafbergbahnhof' station. From there, transfer to the bus number 150 or 154 heading to 'St. Gilgen'. After about a 10-minute bus ride, you will arrive at St. Gilgen. The combination of train and bus will provide you with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

If you prefer a scenic route, you can take a bus from Salzburg to 'Wolfgangsee'. Once you reach the lake, board the ferry from 'Wolfgangsee' to 'St. Gilgen'.
