Discover more about Grawa Waterfall

Grawa Waterfall, or Grawa Wasserfall, is a natural wonder nestled in the rear of the Stubaital Valley, approximately 15 km from Neustift im Stubaital and a mere kilometer from the Stubai Glacier. This impressive cascade has earned its place as one of Austria's most beautiful waterfalls and the widest in the Eastern Alps. Officially declared a natural monument in 1979, Grawa Waterfall offers visitors a chance to witness the raw power and beauty of nature. The waterfall is fed by the Sulzbach brook, which plunges dramatically down a height of 100 to 180 meters, with a width of approximately 85 meters. The best time to visit is from late spring to August, when the melting snow and rising temperatures cause the Sulzaubach Glacier River to swell, creating a spectacular display. During this peak flow, the waterfall's breadth is at its most impressive. Visitors can easily access the waterfall via a short, 15-minute walk from the parking area above the Grawa Alm hut. The path leads to a wooden bridge offering fantastic views. For an even closer encounter, two viewing platforms have been constructed, allowing visitors to safely experience the refreshing spray and feel the thundering power of the cascading water. The Grawa Waterfall is integrated into the Stubai WildWaterPark and the WildWaterTrail, which highlights the most stunning water features in the valley.
