Getting there

Walking

From the Kufstein city center, the fortress is easily accessible on foot. Start at Unterer Stadtplatz, located behind St. Vitus parish church and close to the town hall. Follow the signs leading uphill towards the fortress. The walk takes approximately 10-15 minutes and involves a moderate climb.

Public Transport

From Kufstein train station, take bus line 4 towards Oberer Stadtplatz. The bus ride is short, and the fortress is a short walk from the bus stop. A single ticket costs between €1 and €3.

Funicular

The Festungsbahn, a funicular railway, provides direct access to the fortress from the town. The valley station is located near the town center. A round-trip ticket on the funicular is included in the fortress entrance fee.

Parking

If arriving by car, park in one of the public car parks or garages in the Kufstein city center. Zentrum Parking Garage and Kufstein Galerien are a few options. Parking fees typically cost around €1 per hour. From the parking area, follow the walking directions to the fortress entrance.
