The 56B bus runs at 15- to 20-minute intervals. From the Lainzer Tor, it's approximately a 20-minute walk to the Hohenauer Teich, following well-marked paths. The bus ticket is around €2.40 for a single journey within Vienna.

The Lainzer Tiergarten has a rich history, dating back to 1561 when Emperor Ferdinand I established it as a private hunting ground for the Habsburg family. It opened to the public in 1919. Today, the Lainzer Tiergarten spans 24.5 square kilometers, with approximately 80% covered in woodland, offering diverse habitats for a wide array of flora and fauna. The Hohenauer Teich, fed by the Lainzer Bach, was created by damming the stream. Visitors can enjoy the large playground near the Hohenauer Teich, while expansive meadows invite relaxation and picnics amidst the scenery. The Lainzer Tiergarten is home to diverse wildlife, including wild boars, red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, and mouflons.
