Overview

Cobenzl Aussicht, perched on the Reisenberg in Vienna's Döbling district, provides a stunning vantage point with sweeping views of the city and its verdant surroundings. The area's history dates back centuries; originally named “Reisenberg Ober Grinzing” or “Latisberg”, it gained its current name from Count Philipp von Cobenzl. In 1776, the Count built Cobenzl Palace, which was popular at the time. The City of Vienna purchased the property in 1907 and constructed the Höhenstrasse, a scenic road, in the 1930s, enhancing its accessibility.While the original Cobenzl Palace was demolished in 1966 after WWII devastation, Cobenzl remains a beloved recreational area. Today, visitors can enjoy the Rondell Café, known for its 1950s flair and panoramic views, as well as hiking trails through the vineyards. The area also features a Lebensbaumkreis (Tree of Life Circle) and a small zoo/farm, making it an ideal destination for families. Cobenzl is easily accessible by public transport or car, offering a blend of natural beauty and Viennese charm.
