The Michaelertrakt, located on Michaelerplatz, is a striking testament to Vienna's imperial history and architectural grandeur. The Michaelertrakt's history dates back to the 18th century when Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach designed it as part of a new Baroque facade for the Hofburg. However, construction was delayed and only completed in the late 19th century by Ferdinand Kirschner.The Michaelertrakt features a semi-circular facade adorned with a 54-meter high dome and sculptures.
