Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you're near Stephansplatz, take the U1 subway line towards Reumannplatz. Get off at the very next stop, Karlsplatz. From Karlsplatz, you can transfer to the U2 line towards Stadion. Ride for one stop and get off at the stop called 'Bundestheater'. Once you exit the station, follow the signs toward the Hofburg Palace. Heldenplatz is directly in front of the Hofburg.

  • Walking

    If you are in the Innere Stadt area (the city center), you can easily walk to Heldenplatz. From Stephansplatz, head west on Graben, which will turn into Kohlmarkt. Continue walking until you reach Hofburg Palace. Heldenplatz is located just outside the palace gates, making it a short and pleasant stroll.

    From the Ringstraße, you can take tram line D (the 'Ring tram') towards Nußdorf. Get off at the stop 'Burgring'. From there, it's a short walk to Heldenplatz. Just walk towards the Hofburg Palace, and you will see Heldenplatz in front of you.
