Vienna Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof), located in the Favoriten district, is the main railway station in Vienna, Austria. Fully operational since December 2015, it links major railway lines from the north, east, south, and west, replacing the old Wien Südbahnhof terminus. The station was built to consolidate three separate dead-end terminals into one central through station. This allows trains to pass through Vienna without changing direction, saving time and improving connectivity.The station boasts modern architecture and facilities, including spacious waiting rooms, luggage lockers, shopping galleries, restaurants, and cafes. With approximately 268,000 daily commuters, it is Austria's busiest long-distance railway station. The station has five island platforms with 10 platforms.
