STADTRAUM MITTE 15: A Community Hub

STADTRAUM MITTE 15, located at Rustensteg 1, has quickly become a vital part of Vienna's Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district. Opened in May 2023, this community hub provides a versatile and accessible space for local initiatives, associations, and residents to connect and collaborate. The Stadtraum occupies a renovated space that was formerly a nightclub.The Stadtraum's mission is to strengthen the social fabric of the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district by providing a platform for residents to connect, share ideas, and work together on projects that benefit the community. It exemplifies Vienna's commitment to urban renewal and citizen participation. Since its opening, STADTRAUM MITTE 15 has hosted a variety of events, showcasing the diverse interests and talents of the local community. Integration Wien organized a creative batik workshop, where participants created colorful textile artworks together. The collective Saft und Soda transformed the Stadtraum into an impressive art space with various installations for the "Seeing Red" exhibition. Resident Willi hosts game weekends, fulfilling childhood dreams for many game enthusiasts. These events demonstrate the Stadtraum's versatility and its ability to cater to a wide range of interests.The Stadtraum is part of a larger urban development project called "Mitte 15," which aims to revitalize the area around the Westbahnhof train station. The project involves residents, politicians, and members of various initiatives who are informed by experts from the MA 21a for urban planning and zoning. The Stadtraum also serves as an information hub for the planning and participation process surrounding the development of the "Mitte 15" district.
