The hike to the main viewpoint takes approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Note that some sections, particularly the Vogelbergsteig, are steep and require sturdy footwear. There are no entrance fees or tolls to access the Falkenwände trails.

    If arriving by bus (Line 715 from Krems or Melk), disembark at the Dürnstein Parkplatz P2 or Dürnstein Bahnhof stop. From either stop, walk towards the town center and follow signs to Dürnstein Castle. The hiking trails to Falkenwände begin near the castle ruins. A single bus fare from Krems to Dürnstein ranges from €2 to €11, depending on the zone. From the bus stop to the trail entrance is approximately a 15-20 minute walk.

    If driving, be aware that the Dürnstein city center is a no-parking zone. Use one of the paid parking lots outside the town center. From the parking lots, it's a 7-10 minute walk to the town center and the base of the hiking trails leading to Falkenwände. Parking costs approximately €4 for 2 hours, with increasing prices for longer durations. From the parking area, follow signs towards the Dürnstein Castle; the trailheads are located nearby.
