Walking
From the Dürnstein town center, the abbey is easily accessible on foot. Follow the main pedestrian street, and you'll find the entrance to Stift Dürnstein. The walk is short but involves a slight incline. No costs are associated with walking.
Public Transport
If arriving by train to Duernstein-Oberloiben station, it's approximately a 20-minute walk to the abbey. Alternatively, from Krems, take bus 715 towards Dürnstein Parkplatz P2. From the parking lot, it is a 7-10 minute walk to the Abbey. Bus fare from Krems to Dürnstein ranges from €2 to €11. A Wachau day ticket, valid on buses and ferries, is also available.
Ferry
From Rossatz on the south bank of the Danube, take the Dürnstein-Rossatz ferry. The ferry transports people and bikes. From the Dürnstein ferry landing, it's a short walk to the abbey. Ferry costs vary, but expect to pay around €3-5 for a single passenger.
Car
Parking is prohibited in the old town of Dürnstein. Use one of the four paid parking lots outside the city center. From the parking lots (P1, P2, P3, P6, P7, P8), it's a 7-10 minute walk to the abbey. Parking fees vary, but expect to pay around €3-5 per hour. Mobile phone parking is possible at P7.
