From Nakhchivan City, the most convenient way to reach Alinja Castle is by taxi. A taxi to Alinja village, near the castle, takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Negotiate the fare in advance; a return trip may cost between 30 to 50 AZN, including waiting time. From Alinja village, it's a steep 2-hour hike to the castle.
Public Transport
Take a minibus heading to Qazançı, Milax, or Xanəgah from Nakhchivan City. These minibuses pass within 1 km of the stairs leading up to Alinja Castle. The minibus fare is approximately 2 AZN. From the drop-off point, follow the road and then hike up the 1,500 steps to reach the castle.
Walking
From the base of Alinja Mountain, the only way to reach Alinja Castle is by foot. The path consists of approximately 1,500 stone steps that zig-zag up the mountain. The climb is steep and takes about 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on fitness level. There are no entrance fees to access the site.
