Getting there

Bus

From Baku International Bus Terminal, regular buses and minibuses travel to Quba. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Tickets can be purchased at the terminal. A one-way ticket costs around $4.

Taxi

Located approximately 170 kilometers northwest of Baku, it's a popular destination for those seeking an escape into the Azerbaijan highlands.Quba's history dates back centuries, with mentions in ancient Arabic and Albanian sources. It rose to prominence in the 18th century as the capital of the Quba Khanate, under the leadership of Hussain Ali Khan and his son Fatali Khan. They fortified the city, and some architectural remnants from that era still stand today. In 1806, the khanate was absorbed into the Russian Empire.Today, Quba is known for its apple orchards, carpet weaving, and cultural diversity. The city is a hub for exploring the surrounding mountains, forests, and villages. Don't miss the chance to visit the Red Village (Qırmızı Qəsəbə), home to Mountain Jews, and the unique Juma Mosque. The Quba region offers a wealth of natural attractions, including the Qechresh Forest and the Afurja Waterfall.
