Discover more about SAVALAN Şərab Zavodu

Located in the village of Qaradeyin, the SAVALAN Şərab Zavodu (Savalan Winery) is a premier destination for tourists seeking to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Azerbaijani winemaking. The winery combines picturesque landscapes with an authentic vineyard experience. Named after the valley where the vineyard is located, the ASPI winery, the company behind the Savalan brand, was started in 2007, with the factory opening in 2010. At an altitude of 350-400 metres, the Savalan Valley provides favorable conditions for cultivating grapes. The Caucasus Mountains provide enough shade to allow for the perfect amount of sunshine and ideal temperature, which, along with the right amount of precipitation, create the most favorable conditions for the grapes. Here, they grow 36 different types of grapes, but only 20 are used for winemaking, while the rest are just for eating. Visitors can partake in guided tours of the vineyard, where knowledgeable staff share insights into the winemaking process, from grape cultivation to fermentation and bottling. Each tour culminates in a delightful tasting session, allowing guests to savor a selection of wines, including both traditional varieties and innovative blends that highlight the region's diverse flavors. The winery currently produces about 600.000 bottles per year but has a capacity of up to 2 million bottles. They have 24 wines, ranging from red to white and rose and from dry and semi-dry to semi-sweet and sweet. In addition to its exceptional wines, SAVALAN Şərab Zavodu boasts a welcoming atmosphere. The facility features beautiful outdoor spaces where guests can take in stunning views of the surrounding countryside while enjoying their wine. There are also opportunities for culinary pairings, with local Azerbaijani delicacies available to complement the wine tasting experience. The winery also has a museum where visitors can explore the history of winemaking in Azerbaijan.
