Light House Seafront Cafe: Amwaj Island's Coastal Gem

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are at Amwaj Island's main entrance, walk straight along the main road (Al-Muharraq Highway) towards the water. Continue walking until you reach the first roundabout. Take the first exit to your left onto a smaller road that leads closer to the seafront. Keep walking straight; you will pass several shops and apartments. After a short walk, you will reach another roundabout. From there, take the second exit to the right, heading towards the lighthouse area. Continue walking straight until you reach the coastline, where you will see the Light House Seafront Cafe located right by the water.

• Public Transport

  If arriving by public transport from Manama, take bus route 12 towards Dragon City. Get off at the 'Amwaj Island-1' bus stop, which is centrally located. From there, it's a short walk or taxi ride to your final destination within Amwaj Islands. A single bus fare costs approximately 1 BHD.

• Taxi/Ride-sharing

  Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available on Amwaj Island. A taxi from Amwaj Island to The Avenues Bahrain costs approximately 6 BHD. From Bahrain International Airport to Amwaj Island, expect to pay around 5 BHD. A short taxi ride within Amwaj Island should cost between 1-3 BHD, depending on the distance.

• Driving

  When driving on Amwaj Island, follow signs towards the Amwaj Marina or the American Mission Hospital. The Light House Seafront Cafe is located near the hospital, right on the coast. Ample parking is available in the vicinity, with hourly rates typically around 0.5 BHD to 1 BHD. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak hours, especially on weekends.
