The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), located in the heart of the Sakhir desert, is a premier motorsport venue and a symbol of Bahrain's commitment to world-class sporting events. Designed by renowned German architect Hermann Tilke, the circuit incorporates elements of local culture and provides a challenging and exciting experience for drivers and spectators alike.
Opened in April 2004, the BIC made history by hosting the first Formula One Grand Prix in the Middle East. This groundbreaking event paved the way for the growth of motorsport in the region and established Bahrain as a prominent destination on the global racing calendar. The circuit has since become a regular fixture on the Formula 1 schedule, delivering thrilling races and unforgettable moments.
The BIC boasts five FIA-certified track layouts, offering versatility for various racing disciplines. These configurations include the Grand Prix Circuit, Outer Circuit, Inner Circuit, Paddock Circuit, and Endurance Circuit. Besides Formula 1, the BIC hosts events such as the FIA World Endurance Championship, regional competitions, and local racing series.
Beyond racing, the Bahrain International Circuit offers a range of experiences for visitors. These include guided tours of the facility, karting, and off-road adventures. During the Formula 1 week, free shuttle buses connect the airport, selected hotels, and the circuit.

Getting There
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Manama and can take you directly to the Bahrain International Circuit. Ensure the meter is running or agree on a fare before starting your journey. A taxi from Manama to the circuit typically costs around 32 BHD. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.
Driving
If driving from Manama, head south on the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway. The journey to the circuit is approximately 31 km and takes around 25 minutes. Parking is available at the circuit. Free parking is offered for vehicles with at least three ticket holders. Otherwise, parking costs 10 BHD.
Public Transport
While there is no direct bus route to the Bahrain International Circuit, you can take a bus from Manama to Isa Town terminal and then take a taxi to the circuit. A single bus fare costs 0.300 BHD. A taxi from Isa Town terminal to the circuit will cost approximately 8-10 BHD. This option takes around 48 minutes.
