Muharraq Pearling Path Cultural Walking Tour

From Trade to Table: A Bahrain Tour Like No Other

Ever wondered what Bahrain’s major industry was before today’s oil? I did, and this fun and fascinating tour gave me the answer, then revealed the lives of those who delivered the “goods” in a unique way. I had a wonderful few hours with guide Khaled and fellow tourists as we walked and talked around Muharraq. At the end of the tour, I enjoyed the delicious Bahraini feast spread out on a table underneath a shading tree with a light breeze as a kind of reward. If you’re curious about Bahrain’s legacy, delight in storytelling, and appreciate the company of a knowledgeable, authentic and easygoing tour guide like Khaled, I’d highly recommend doing this tour!

Best local guide in my opinion: Khalid

Khalid was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable. Being from a genuine old Bahraini Family he just had some really great background stories and insights to share. You get a good overview from Pearl Diving to the modern era with the reclaiming of land and how Bahrain was great back then and is great now too. Besides this he was very punctual, great sense of humour and relaxed. It felt like being on route with one of my friends. Great recommendations for eateries with local dishes which I followed and very much enjoyed after the tour.

Fantastic Bahrain tour- condensed and impactful

Well organized and efficient. For a short stay in Bahrain, this half day tour hits the highlights and leaves you feeling very satisfied and with enough time to do another activity or two after that. We toured the Sooq, saw a great pearl shop, toured the ancient tombs, visited a great local pottery shop, toured the F1 circuit, and then spent some time in rhe National Museum. Our tour guide Ahmed was very knowledgeable and a great representative of Bahrain culture and reception. We highly recommend his service and this tour!
