Al Areen Wildlife Park: A Desert Oasis

Al Areen Wildlife Park, established in 1976, stands as a pioneering conservation project in Bahrain, dedicated to preserving endangered Arabian animal and plant species. Spanning approximately 8 square kilometers, this expansive park serves as a sanctuary for over 45 species of animals, 82 species of birds, and 25 species of flora. The park is divided into two main sections: the reserve and the public park. The reserve, accessible only to specialists and researchers, provides a protected environment for breeding rare Arabian animals and plants. The public park welcomes visitors to explore and learn about the diverse flora and fauna of the region. Al Areen plays a vital role in breeding endangered species, with successful programs increasing populations of threatened animals like the Arabian oryx and Persian gazelle. Visitors can observe animals in spacious enclosures that mimic their natural habitats.
