Shaheed A. H. M. Kamruzzaman Central Park and Zoo is a cherished recreational spot in Rajshahi, offering a blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and family-friendly attractions. After the British left, Abul Hasnat Muhammad Qamaruzzaman, a local political figure, spearheaded its transformation into a public park, which opened in 1972. In 1983, a zoo was added, enhancing its appeal. The park is named in honor of A.H.M. Kamruzzaman, a national leader of Bangladesh.The park features a diverse collection of trees, plants, and seasonal flowers, creating a refreshing atmosphere. The zoo houses various animals, including tigers, deer, crocodiles, monkeys and birds. A central lake offers paddle boats, and the park includes sculptures, bridges, a butterfly garden, and an artificial hill with scenic views.
