Rangpur Zoo: A Northern Bengal Wildlife Haven

Rangpur Zoo, officially known as Recreation Park and Rangpur Zoo, is a prominent attraction in Rangpur, Bangladesh, offering a refreshing escape into the natural world. Located on Police Line Road, near the Rangpur District Administration Office, this 21.51-acre park is the largest zoo in North Bengal and the second largest in Bangladesh. Established in 1989 and opened to the public in 1991, it has become a beloved recreational spot for locals and tourists alike. The zoo is home to a diverse collection of animals, representing 26 species and over 215 individual animals. Visitors can see lions, Royal Bengal tigers, hippopotamuses, and various bird species like peacocks and vultures. The zoo aims to mimic the natural environments of the animals, enhancing the educational aspect of visits.
