Rangpur Zoo, officially opened on June 14, 1991, stands as a testament to former President Ershad's vision for enriching his hometown. Spanning 21.51 acres, this zoological garden is the largest in North Bengal and the second largest in Bangladesh. Located conveniently on Police Line Road, near the Rangpur District Administration Office, the zoo provides a green escape within the city.The zoo is home to a diverse collection of 26 species and over 215 individual animals. Visitors can marvel at majestic lions and Bengal tigers, observe a hippopotamus in its enclosure, and spot crocodiles basking in the sun.
