  • Car/Chander Gari

    From Khagrachhari, the most common way to reach Sajek Valley is by reserving a 'Chander Gari' (local jeep). The 70km journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. A round trip typically costs between BDT 8,000 to 10,000, making it ideal for groups of 12-15 people. Alternatively, smaller groups can join other travelers at Khagrachhari Shapla Chattor to share costs. The route involves crossing the Mayni River and requires permission from the Baghaihat police or army camp.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Sajek Valley via public transport, first take a bus from Dhaka to Khagrachhari. Non-AC bus fare ranges from BDT 520 to 580, while AC bus fare is between BDT 700 to 900. From Khagrachhari, take a local bus or CNG to Dighinala, which costs around BDT 45 by bus or BDT 100 per person by motorcycle. From Dighinala, hire a 'Chander Gari' to Sajek, keeping in mind that army escorts are available at 10 AM and in the afternoon for the Dighinala-Sajek route.

Sajek Tipperah Valley is an emerging tourist hotspot nestled in the Kasalong range of mountains in the Rangamati District of Bangladesh. The valley is named after the Sajek River, a tributary of the Karnafuli River that also serves as a border between Bangladesh and India. The valley is primarily inhabited by various ethnic groups including Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Pankho, and Lusai people, each with their own distinct traditions.
