Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start your journey by heading towards Dhaka from your location in Sylhet Division. Follow the N2 highway, which connects Sylhet to Dhaka. Once you reach the outskirts of Dhaka, follow signs for Lalbagh Fort. The fort is located on Lalbagh Road, and you can use GPS coordinates (23.7188605, 90.3881596) to navigate directly. There is a parking area available near the fort, but be prepared for potential parking fees that can vary.

Bus

For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from Sylhet to Dhaka. Buses leave frequently from the Sylhet bus terminal. Make sure to choose a bus that goes to the Sayedabad Bus Terminal in Dhaka. The fare is typically around 400-600 BDT. Upon reaching Sayedabad, you can take a local CNG (auto-rickshaw) or a taxi to Lalbagh Fort, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Expect to pay around 150-250 BDT for the CNG or taxi.

Train

Alternatively, you can take a train from Sylhet to Dhaka. The train station in Sylhet offers several daily services to Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka. Train tickets usually range from 300 to 1,000 BDT depending on the class of service. From Kamalapur, you can hire a CNG or taxi to Lalbagh Fort, which is about a 15-minute drive away, costing roughly 100-200 BDT.

Rickshaw

Once you arrive in the Lalbagh area, you can use a local rickshaw for the last leg of your journey if you are not within walking distance. Rickshaws are widely available, and the fare should be negotiated beforehand; expect to pay around 50-100 BDT for a short ride to the fort.
