The Jadukata River, also known as Jadukata Nadi, meanders through the Sunamganj district, marking the northeastern border of Bangladesh with India. Its original name, Renuka, whispers tales of local legends. The river originates in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, embarking on a twenty-mile journey before merging into the Surma River, known locally as 'Rakti'.The river's allure is multifaceted. Verdant hills rise on one side, adorned with lush trees, while the other side presents the majestic Khasi Hills. The water is so clear that the riverbed is visible in shallower areas, creating an illusion of transparency that enhances the overall visual appeal. During the monsoon, it widens, showcasing its power and volume.
