    From Bridgetown, take the #4 bus from the Fairchild Street Terminal towards Shorey Village, or the #5G bus towards Sugar Hill. Ask the driver to let you off at the 'Flower Forest' stop near Richmond Road. From the bus stop, walk along Richmond Road for approximately 5 minutes until you reach the entrance of the gardens. The bus fare is approximately $2 BBD per person.

Discover a serene escape at the Flower Forest Botanical Gardens, located in the parish of St. Joseph, Barbados. Situated on the historic Richmond Plantation, approximately 850 feet above sea level, the gardens offer a unique blend of natural beauty and curated landscapes.Once a sugar plantation that struggled to thrive, Richmond Plantation was redeveloped in the 1980s into a botanical paradise, opening to the public in December 1983. The vision was brought to life by Don Hill, with the expertise of Richard Coghlan of Kew Gardens, who meticulously planned the layout. Today, the gardens showcase a diverse collection of flora from across the West Indies and other tropical regions, including Heliconias, ginger lilies, bromeliads, and anthurium lilies.Meander along paved walkways shaded by towering Caribbean Royal Palms, and discover a kaleidoscope of colorful flowers, exotic plants, and tranquil vistas. The imaginative landscaping offers a sensory feast, with fragrant blossoms, the songs of native birds, and gentle country breezes. Explore the smaller paths to discover even more floral treasures. The Flower Forest is also available for weddings and private events.Visitors can relax on the terrace with a refreshing drink or tasty lunch, and shop for locally made art and crafts in the gift shop. The pavilion incorporates the old boiling house, preserving its giant copper boilers.
