If you are starting from the city center of Aalst, head towards the 'Station Aalst' train station. Once you arrive at the station, exit and turn left onto 'Kastanjestraat.' Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 'Hertstraat.' Cross over to 'Hertstraat' and follow it until you reach 'Beverenstraat.' Continue straight until you arrive at the 'Aalst' bus station. From there, take bus number 136 towards Brussels. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. After reaching 'Brussels', disembark at the nearest bus stop to 'Place du Congrès.' Follow signs for 'Place du Congrès' which will lead you to the Congress Column.

From Aalst, make your way to 'Station Aalst' and purchase a ticket to 'Brussels Central Station.' Board a train heading towards Brussels, which typically runs every 15-30 minutes. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at 'Brussels Central Station', exit and head north onto 'Rue de la Montagne.' Continue straight until you reach 'Place de la Bourse.' From there, take 'Rue des Fripiers' until you reach 'Place du Congrès.' The Congress Column will be on your left upon arriving at the square.
