Brabo's Monument, located in the heart of Antwerp's Grote Markt, is a bronze fountain depicting the legendary Roman soldier Silvius Brabo tossing the severed hand of the giant Druon Antigoon into the Scheldt River. This act symbolizes the city's freedom from the giant's tyranny and is believed to be the origin of Antwerp's name.

Walking
Brabo's Monument is centrally located in the Grote Markt, making it easily accessible on foot from most locations in downtown Antwerp. From the Groenplaats metro and tram station, walk north towards the City Hall; the Grote Markt and the fountain will be directly in front of you. The walk is short and straightforward.
Public Transport
The Grote Markt is well-served by public transport. Take tram lines 3, 4, 5, 7, or 9 to the Groenplaats stop, which is a short walk from the square. Alternatively, several bus lines, including 22, 32, 40, 64, 70, 72 and 87, stop near the Grote Markt. A single ride costs €1.80 via the De Lijn app. A day pass is also available for €7.50.
Taxi/Ride-Share
