Getting There

Train
From Aalst train station, take a train towards Brussels. You will need to switch trains at either Brussels Central or Brussels Midi station. At Brussels Central, catch a train towards Braine-l'Alleud. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Braine-l'Alleud station, exit the station and head west on Rue du Cerf. Continue straight until you reach Rte du Lion, where you will find the Waterloo Battlefield.

Bus
From Aalst, take the local bus No. 100 towards Brussels. Get off at 'Zellik' which is one of the main stops. From there, switch to bus No. 130 towards Braine-l'Alleud. The total journey may take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you get off at the Braine-l'Alleud stop, walk along Rte du Lion to reach the Waterloo Battlefield.

Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Aalst. From the city center, head south towards the Brussels Ring Road, then follow the cycling paths leading towards Braine-l'Alleud. The route is approximately 15 kilometers and will take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your cycling speed. You will arrive directly at Rte du Lion where the Waterloo Battlefield is located.
