Public Transport

From Brussels Central Station, take tram line 4 towards Stalle (P). Get off at the 'Parvis St-Gilles' stop, which is directly in front of the Saint-Gilles town hall. From there, walk along Rue de Hotel des Monnaies, then turn right onto Rue Veydt. La Patinoire Royale will be on your left. The tram journey takes approximately 15 minutes. A single ticket costs €2.30 if purchased in advance or €2.50 if purchased on board.

After the Second World War, Siemens used the space as a garage before it was used as an exhibition space for collectors' cars in 1975. In 1995, the building was classified as a historical monument, recognizing its architectural and cultural significance. Inside, an impressive metallic Polonceau structure, designed by Eiffel collaborator Camille Polonceau, spans the vast space, creating a sense of grandeur and openness. In 2015, La Patinoire Royale was reborn as a contemporary art gallery, breathing new life into the historic building. Valérie Bach founded the gallery, with the vision of creating a space that would showcase both established and emerging artists from around the world. The gallery's 3,000 square meters are divided into four distinct spaces: the large nave, the glazed gallery, the first floor, and the ground-to-street level.
