Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Dinant. From the N4 highway, take the exit for Dinant. Once in Dinant, follow signs for the Citadelle. There is parking available near the base of the citadel, but parking fees may apply, typically around €2-€3 per hour. After parking, you can walk to the entrance, which is about a 10-minute walk uphill.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Citadelle de Dinant by public transportation, take a train to Dinant station. From major cities like Brussels or Namur, trains run frequently and the journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Dinant station, you can either catch bus line 5 (direction Yvoir) that will drop you near the base of the citadel, or you can opt for a scenic 20-minute walk along the Meuse River. If you choose the bus, a ticket will cost around €2. The citadel is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Walking

  If you're already in the town of Dinant, you can walk to Citadelle de Dinant. From the center of Dinant, head towards Rue de la Station and follow signs leading to the citadel. The path is steep, so be prepared for a bit of a hike, roughly 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. This route offers beautiful views of the town and the Meuse River.

• Cable Car

  For a unique experience, consider taking the cable car from the base of the hill to the summit of Citadelle de Dinant. The cable car station is located near the river. A round-trip ticket costs approximately €10 for adults and €7 for children. The ride offers stunning views of Dinant and the surrounding landscape.
