Design Museum Brussels, formerly known as the Art & Design Atomium Museum (ADAM), is a museum in Brussels dedicated to design from the 20th and 21st centuries. Established in 2015 after the Atomium acquired the Plasticarium collection, the museum has become a hub for design enthusiasts. The museum's collection includes works by renowned designers such as Verner Panton, Joe Colombo and Philippe Starck. The Plastic Design Collection showcases the innovative use of plastics in design from the 1950s onwards, featuring furniture, household objects, and artworks. In addition to the Plastic Design Collection, the museum opened a new permanent exhibition space in September 2020 dedicated to Belgian design and its history. Enriched by temporary exhibitions, the Design Museum Brussels explores various design fields and their influence on daily life. The museum aims to make design accessible to everyone through exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, and conferences. The Design Museum Brussels is located in the northern part of the city, close to the Atomium and the Heysel Exhibition Park. The building itself features a colored staircase designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, marking the entrance to the museum.
