From De Haan, walk to the nearest bus stop at 'De Haan - Centrum'. Take bus line 1 towards Oostende. After about 20 minutes, get off at 'Oostende Station'. From there, transfer to train line S to Ypres (Ieper). The train ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ypres, exit the station and walk towards the city center for about 15 minutes. You will reach the Grote Markt, where the Lakenhallen and the In Flanders Fields Museum are located.
Bicycle
Start by renting a bicycle in De Haan. Head towards the coast and follow the cycling path along the beach towards Oostende. Once you reach Oostende, follow the signs for the train station and continue on the cycling paths through the city. From Oostende, follow the cycling routes to Ypres. The total cycling distance is about 25 km and will take approximately 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Ypres, park your bicycle and walk to the Grote Markt, where the Lakenhallen is situated.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can start at De Haan and walk towards Oostende. The distance is around 10 km, which will take approximately 2.5 hours. Follow the coastal promenade and then take the path leading towards the train station in Oostende. Once at the train station, take the train to Ypres (Ieper). After about 30 minutes, get off at Ypres station, and from there, it is a 15-minute walk to the Grote Markt where the Lakenhallen and In Flanders Fields Museum are located.
