Walking
If you are already in the city center of Ghent, Botermarkt is easily accessible by walking. Start at the Gravensteen Castle, a well-known landmark. From there, head east on Sint-Veerleplein, then turn left onto Cataloniëstraat. Continue straight until you reach Botermarkt, which is just around the corner. The walk should take about 10 minutes.
Public Transport
To reach Botermarkt by public transportation, take a train to Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station. From the station, take tram line 1 towards 'Bovenbouw'. Get off at the 'Korenmarkt' stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Botermarkt. Exit the tram and head towards the historic city center, following the signs that direct you towards Gravensteen. Botermarkt is located just a few blocks away. A single tram fare is around €3.
Car
If you are driving from Brussels, take the E40 highway towards Gent. Follow the signs for Gent and take exit 9 for Gent Centrum. Once you exit, continue on the N9, which will lead you directly into the city. As you approach the city center, follow the signs pointing to 'Botermarkt'. Consider parking at the 'Sint-Pietersplein' or 'Veldstraat' parking lots, which are within walking distance. Parking rates in the city center range from €1.80 to €3.60 per hour.
