Discover more about Bastogne War Museum

Located near the Mardasson Memorial, the Bastogne War Museum is a leading memorial dedicated to WWII in the Ardennes and Belgium, with a particular emphasis on the Battle of the Bulge. Opened in 2014 on the site of the former Bastogne Historical Centre, the museum provides a modern and interactive framework to understand the causes, events, and consequences of the war. The museum immerses visitors in the daily lives of troops and civilians during the Second World War through state-of-the-art displays that incorporate sound, vision, smell, and touch. The main exhibition progresses chronologically, presenting a timeline before, during, and after the offensive. Visitors follow the stories of four fictional characters – an American corporal, a German lieutenant, a young teacher, and a schoolboy – based on real events, which personalizes the experience. The museum visit includes the permanent tour, the Generations45 experience, access to the Bois Jacques battlefield, and a visit to the Bastogne War Rooms. The experience takes approximately 2.5 hours for the museum and Generations 45, 30 minutes for Bois Jacques, and 1 hour for the War Rooms. The Bistrot de la Paix, located within the museum, offers meals with a view of the Mardasson Memorial.
