Car
If you are traveling by car, make your way to Ghent by following the E17 motorway if you are coming from Antwerp or the E40 if you are coming from Brussels. Once you reach Ghent, follow the signs for the city center. You can park at one of the nearby parking facilities such as the 'Sint-Pietersplein' or 'Savaanstraat' parking lots. From your parking spot, it’s a short walk to Gravensteen. Head towards the Sint-Veerleplein; the castle will be directly in front of you.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a train to Ghent's main station, 'Gent-Sint-Pieters.' At the station, you can catch tram line 1 towards 'Gent - Bredabaan' or bus line 38 towards 'Gent - Centrum.' Get off at the 'Korenmarkt' stop. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Gravensteen. Head towards the 'Sint-Veerleplein' and follow the signs; the castle is located at Sint-Veerleplein 11.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Gravensteen. Many cities in East Flanders offer bike rental services. You can follow the designated cycling routes leading to Ghent. Once in the city, there are bike racks available near the castle for you to park your bicycle. After parking, walk to Sint-Veerleplein to visit Gravensteen.
