Car
If you are driving from the Flemish Ardennes, take the E40 motorway heading towards Brussels. Continue on the E40 for about 30 km until you reach the Brussels ring road (R0). Take exit 8 towards E19/Brussel/Bruxelles/Neder-Over-Heembeek. Merge onto the R0 and follow the signs for Brussels, then take exit 8A towards E19/Bruxelles-Centre. Stay on the E19 for about 6 km until you see signs for Atomium. Follow the signs to the Atomium, which is located at Pl. de l'Atomium 1, 1020 Bruxelles. Parking is available nearby, but there may be a fee.
Public Transportation
To reach the Atomium using public transport, start by taking a train from a nearby station in the Flemish Ardennes to Brussels Central Station. The journey typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Upon arrival at Brussels Central Station, transfer to the Metro Line 6 (the brown line) towards Roi Baudouin. Get off at the 'Heysel' station. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Atomium, following signs towards the landmark. Be sure to check the schedule for train and metro timings, as they vary throughout the day.
Bus
Another option is to take a bus from your location in the Flemish Ardennes to Brussels. Check local bus schedules for routes that connect to the main bus station in Brussels. From the main bus station, you can take Metro Line 6 towards Roi Baudouin as described before. This option may take longer depending on the bus connections, so plan accordingly.
