Getting There

Walking
If you are in the city center, head towards the Korenmarkt. From Korenmarkt, walk towards Sint-Baafsplein, where you will find the stunning St. Bavo's Cathedral. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the square. After passing the cathedral, take a left onto the Kouter street. Follow Kouter until you reach the intersection with the Jan Hoetplein. The SMAK - Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art is located at Jan Hoetplein 1, right at the end of this street.

Public Transport
If you are further away from the city center, you can take tram line 1 or 4. Board the tram at the nearest station and ride until you reach 'Gent-Sint-Pieters' station. Once you disembark, transfer to tram line 1 towards 'Ledeberg'. Get off at 'Jan Hoetplein' stop, which is just a short walk from the museum. The SMAK is located at Jan Hoetplein 1, and you will see the entrance as you leave the tram.

Bicycle
If you have a bicycle or can rent one, start from the city center and head towards the Citadelpark. Follow the signs to the park and cycle through it, enjoying the scenery. Exit the park towards the Jan Hoetplein. The SMAK - Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art is located right at the entrance of the park at Jan Hoetplein 1. There are bike racks available for parking your bicycle.
