Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from the historic center of Ghent, make your way to the Korenmarkt square. From there, head towards the Sint-Niklaaskerk (St. Nicholas' Church) and walk along the streets leading towards the river. Cross the Saint Michael's Bridge (Sint-Michielsbrug) for a beautiful view. Continue straight down the street until you reach the tram stop called 'Graslei.' Board Tram 1 towards 'Brugge' and enjoy the scenic ride. Stay on the tram until you reach the 'Brugge' stop. Once there, follow the signs towards the city center, and walk towards Walplein, which is a short 10-minute walk from the tram stop.

Train
If you are currently in Ghent's city center, make your way to the Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station. From the city center, you can take tram 4 or bus 3 to the train station. Once at Gent-Sint-Pieters, purchase a ticket to Bruges (Brugge). The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Bruges station, exit the station and follow the signs to the bus or tram stop. Take bus 1 or tram 1 towards the city center. Get off at 'Brugge' stop, and from there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Walplein. Just head towards the center, passing through the Markt square, and you'll find Walplein nearby.

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Ghent. Start your journey by cycling towards the 'Lange Violettestraat' and head towards the canal. Follow the canal path, which will lead you towards Bruges. The ride is approximately 30 minutes, and it’s a beautiful route. Upon reaching Bruges, head towards the city center and follow the signs to Walplein. It's a short ride from the outskirts of Bruges to Walplein, where you can park your bike nearby.
