    Discover more about SPARKOH!

SPARKOH! is more than just a museum; it's an immersive experience where science and technology come to life. Located in Frameries, near Mons, in the province of Hainaut, Belgium, this unique center occupies the site of the former Crachet-Picquery coal mine, blending industrial heritage with modern innovation. Designed to captivate children and families, SPARKOH! offers over 12,000 m² of interactive spaces with 17 exhibitions that delve into various scientific themes. Visitors can explore the vastness of the universe in the "COSMOS" exhibition, discover the elements in "The Odyssey of the Elements," and let their creativity run wild in Ingeniocity, a space for budding builders and engineers. For the little ones, a ground floor is specially designed for children from 3 to 7 years old, offering a poetic introduction to science via 4 exhibitions. But the adventure doesn't stop indoors. The 28-hectare park features a biodiversity garden, playgrounds with swings and zip lines, and a terril (slag heap) to climb, providing ample opportunities for outdoor fun and learning. Adventurous visitors can tackle the "Acro'bât" course, an indoor adventure trail on three floors that keeps both mind and body active. SPARKOH! is also a place full of history. In the early 1990s, the idea emerged to convert the former Crachet-Picquery mining site into a center dedicated to discussing and promoting scientific, technical, and industrial culture. Internationally renowned French architect Jean Nouvel was tasked with the planning, architecture, and renovation work. He incorporated ideas and materials from industrial constructions into the very heart of a contemporary design. Whether you're interested in science, history, or just a fun day out with the family, SPARKOH! offers a unique and engaging experience.
