Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from a location in Hainaut, you can use the following directions. First, find your way to the E42 motorway. Depending on your starting point, you may need to connect to the E42 from a local road. Once on the E42, head towards Namur. Continue on the E42 for approximately 30 km until you reach exit 12 toward Dinant. After exiting, follow signs for Dinant. Drive into the city center and look for signs directing you to 'Citadelle de Dinant'. The citadel is located at Chem. de la Citadelle 1, 5500 Dinant. There is parking available near the base of the citadel, but be aware that there may be parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Citadelle de Dinant via public transportation, first, you need to get to Dinant by train. From any central station in Hainaut, such as Charleroi or La Louvière, take a train to Dinant. The journey from Charleroi to Dinant takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Dinant train station, exit the station and walk towards the river. From there, you can take a local bus (Bus number 12 or 13) towards the 'Citadelle' stop, which is just a short walk from the entrance of the citadel. Alternatively, if the weather is nice, you can walk up to the citadel, which is about a 20-minute walk uphill from the station.
