Avolare: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Houffalize

Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the center of La Roche-en-Ardenne, specifically at the Place du Marché. From there, head south on Rue de la Station. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with N830. Cross the road and follow the signs for the footpath leading to Houffalize. After approximately 3 kilometers, you will come to a fork in the path; take the left path to continue toward Engreux. Keep walking for another 2 kilometers until you reach the village of Engreux. Avolare is located on the main road in Engreux, at address 6663 Houffalize.

• Biking

  If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle in La Roche-en-Ardenne. Start at the center of town at Place du Marché and head toward Rue de la Station. Continue onto N830, following the signs toward Houffalize. There is a dedicated cycling path alongside the road, making your ride safer. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach Engreux. Avolare is on the main road, easily visible as you enter the village.

• Public Transport

  While Avolare is somewhat remote and not directly accessible by public transport from La Roche-en-Ardenne, you can take a bus to Houffalize. Start at the La Roche-en-Ardenne bus station and take the bus towards Houffalize. Once you arrive in Houffalize, you will need to walk or bike approximately 4 kilometers to reach Engreux. Follow the main road, and you will find Avolare on your left as you enter the village.
