Parc du Cinquantenaire, a sprawling 30-hectare urban park, offers a blend of history, culture, and recreation in the heart of Brussels. Created to celebrate 50 years of Belgian independence, the park was commissioned by King Leopold II and designed by architect Gédéon Bordiau. Originally intended as a more modest green space, the park expanded following the success of the 1880 Universal Exposition.The park's centerpiece is the impressive Arcade du Cinquantenaire, a triple arch that symbolizes Belgium's industrial and cultural prowess.
