Car
If you're driving, start from the center of Liège. Head southeast on Rue de la Régence toward Rue des Croisiers. Continue onto Rue de l'Academie and then take the exit onto the E25 motorway heading toward Namur. After approximately 8 km, take exit 2 toward Visé/Landen. Merge onto N608 and follow signs for Ében-Émael. Stay on Rue du Fort until you reach Fort Eben-Emael at Rue du Fort 40, 4690 Liège. Parking is available near the fort, but may have a fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Fort Eben-Emael by public transport, start at the Liège-Guillemins train station. Take a train to Visé (approximately 15 minutes). From Visé station, you can take bus line 6 towards Ében-Émael. Get off at the stop 'Ében-Émael, Rue du Fort', and walk about 500 meters to the fort. Be sure to check the current bus schedule as timings may vary. The total cost for the train and bus may range from €5 to €10.
Bicycle
For a scenic route, consider cycling from Liège to Fort Eben-Emael. Start at the Meuse riverbank and follow the bike paths toward Visé. Once in Visé, navigate towards Ében-Émael, following local bike routes. The distance is about 15 km and should take roughly 1 hour. Ensure you have a bike lock as there are bike racks available at the fort.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are close enough, walking to Fort Eben-Emael can be a unique experience. From the center of Ében-Émael, head north on Rue du Fort, which will lead you directly to the fort. The walk is approximately 2 km and should take around 25 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
