Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the central square of Louvain-la-Neuve, known as Place des Sciences. From here, head towards the main university building, which is easily recognizable. Once you reach the university, look for the signs directing you to the 'Bois de Lauzelle' area. Walk straight along the Rue des Combattants until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Hulpe. At this intersection, turn left onto Rue de la Hulpe. Continue on this road, which will lead you through a more residential area. As you walk, keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Bois de Lauzelle. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will arrive at a small entrance to the Bois de Lauzelle on your right. This nature preserve is a lovely area with walking trails and beautiful natural scenery, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start at the central square of Louvain-la-Neuve. Head towards the university, then follow the pedestrian pathway that leads towards Rue des Combattants. When you reach Rue de la Hulpe, turn left. As you cycle along Rue de la Hulpe, you will pass several residential buildings and some greenery. The cycling route is fairly straightforward and should take around 15 minutes. Look for signs that point towards Bois de Lauzelle, and you will find a small entrance on your right when you get closer to the nature preserve.

• Public Transport

  From Louvain-la-Neuve, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is typically located near the central square or university. Check the local bus schedule for routes that head towards Ottignies or specifically to Bois de Lauzelle. Board the bus and confirm with the driver or the route map that you are heading in the right direction. The bus ride may take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the designated stop for Bois de Lauzelle, and follow the signs to the entrance of the nature preserve, which should be a short walk from the bus stop.
