Car
If you are traveling by car, take the A1 motorway from Luxembourg City towards Ettelbruck. Continue on the A1 for about 20 km until you reach the exit for the N7 towards Vianden. Follow the N7 for approximately 15 km, which will lead you directly into Vianden. Once in the town, follow the signs for 'Château de Vianden' (Vianden Castle). There is parking available near the castle, but it may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation - Train and Bus
To reach Vianden Castle via public transportation, start by taking a train from Luxembourg City to Ettelbruck. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Ettelbruck, transfer to the bus line 570 towards Vianden. The bus ride will take approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Vianden, Pont' and then follow the signs for the castle, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill from the bus stop.
Walking
If you're already in Vianden, the castle is a prominent landmark. From the town center, head towards the Rue du Château, which will lead you up the hill to the castle. It's a steep walk, but the views along the way are beautiful. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
