Start at Mechelen city center, specifically at the Mechelen train station. Exit the station and head northwest on 'Stationsstraat' towards 'Kleine Beestenmarkt'. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach 'Lange Schipstraat'. Turn right onto 'Lange Schipstraat' and continue straight until you reach 'Grote Markt'. At the 'Grote Markt', turn left onto 'Korenmarkt'. Continue until you reach 'Koningin Astridlaan'. At this point, you will want to look for the 'Barebeekvallei' signs as you approach the nature preserve. The entrance to Barebeekvallei is located near the intersection of 'Koningin Astridlaan' and 'Barebeekstraat'. You should see signs indicating the entrance to the nature preserve. The total distance is approximately 2 kilometers, and it should take about 25-30 minutes on foot.

Public Transport
From the Mechelen city center, walk to the Mechelen train station and take bus line 2 towards 'Heffen'. Get off at the 'Barebeek' stop. This bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. After exiting the bus, you will be just a short walk away from the entrance of Barebeekvallei. Follow the signs leading to the nature preserve, which is located at the intersection of 'Barebeekstraat' and 'Koningin Astridlaan'. The total travel time including walking should be around 30-40 minutes.
