From the Mechelen city center, head towards the train station (Station Mechelen). Once you reach the station, take the train to Antwerp. The journey takes about 20 minutes. After arriving at Antwerp Central Station, exit the station and head towards the exit that leads to the main street (De Keyserlei). Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Hopland. Turn left on Hopland, and continue walking until you reach Hopland 13, where the Rubenshuis is located.

From Mechelen city center, find the nearest bus stop that services the line to Antwerp. Board bus number 500 or any other bus that goes to Antwerp. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Antwerp, Hopland' stop. From there, walk a short distance to Hopland 13, where you will find the Rubenshuis.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local rental service in Mechelen. Head towards the Dijlestad bicycle path that leads to Antwerp. Follow the signs for the bicycle route to Antwerp, which takes you along the river. The cycling distance is about 10 kilometers and will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Antwerp, navigate towards the city center and follow the signs to Hopland. The Rubenshuis is located at Hopland 13.
