Walking
To reach the Sonian Forest from the Mons city center, start at the Grand Place. Head southwest toward Rue de la Pommeraie. Continue straight until you reach the Rue de Nimy. Turn left onto Rue de Nimy. Walk straight until you reach the bus station, 'Gare de Mons'. From there, take Bus 17 towards 'Brussels'. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Sonian Forest' stop. Follow the signs directing you to the main entrance of the forest, where you can explore the beautiful wooded area.

If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Mons. Start at the Grand Place and head towards the Rue de Nimy. Follow this road until you reach the bus station, then continue straight on the cycle path following Rue de Bruxelles. After about 8 kilometers, you will reach the outskirts of the Sonian Forest. Look for the designated bike paths that lead into the forest area.

From Mons, make your way to 'Gare de Mons' train station. You can walk to the station from the city center, which takes about 15 minutes. Once at the station, buy a ticket for the train heading to Brussels. Get off at 'Brussels Central' station, then transfer to the tram line 94 towards 'Tervuren'. After about 25 minutes, disembark at the 'Sonian Forest' stop. Follow the signs to the forest entrance.
